DRAWING NEAR TO
Agriculture and Work Exploration
Personal Growth is not static; it’s dynamic. As such, our Program has a more dynamic component, which involves therapeutic work. Our agricultural work program offers purpose to the residents to go about their everyday life. It also offers the opportunity for staff to develop relationships on the farm, which provide the tranquility and solace necessary for the character transformation in our residents, as they experience Christ. The work program is both agricultural based and project based, which includes carpentry.
Personal Growth- Self Exploration
Personal growth can be defined as the ability to change. We are always changing. When we came to Christ, we changed; not everyone experienced this change immediately, but we have all changed. In fact, 2 Corinthians 5:17 puts it this way: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (NKJV). The challenge is that, although a new creation, some of us continue to experience no change, or difficulty in changing. We get stuck. At GRM we challenge you to change. GRM first area of focus is to foster change, through personal growth – becoming more like Christ.
“Drawing near to God, drawing near to people, and drawing near to the community”
The main purpose of GRM is to glorify God, expand His kingdom, as we help people help themselves and others, as they find their destiny, by being empowered through discipleship, the love of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, helping them toward maturity in all things. The ultimate goal is to provide a safe environment for residents and staff where they can be empowered to experience personal growth and the love of Jesus.
Discipleship- Curriculum Exploration
Change is almost impossible if we do not know what it looks like, or what we are supposed to change to. Discipleship is the second area of focus of our work, and it is considered the “modeling” aspect of our ministry. We believe discipleship does not only take place in a Bible study group, in a classroom, or at church, but in our every day lives, and in every step we take. GRM hopes to provide a full time modeling environment, so that the witness of the power of the Holy Spirit can be presented, in living a life of victory, yet with every moment we live being dedicated to God, as we exercise trust in Him, and look at the Person of Christ as our ultimate model.

DRAWING NEAR TOCOMMUNITY
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation" (2 Corinthians 5:17-18, NKJV)
Family Ministerial Counselling - Family Reunification
As a ministry of RECONCILIATION, GRM understands how "hurt people hurt people." Our ministry extends the opportunity to our residents' family members to process the pain and hurt our resident (their relative) may have caused. The purpose for this is to provide for a successful reintegration of the family and the community, in a healthy, functional way, and with a new purpose in life: to follow and live like Christ, to glorify God. Family Reunification is a guided, and assisted process for family to meet and learn to connect again.
GRM hopes that through the care we will provide to these men in need, through the promotion of their personal growth, we will be in alignment with the ministry of reconciliation that has been entrusted onto us at the Land of Goshen Farm. It is our hope His divine anointing and covering will be over GRM, as we seek to follow His word, as expressed in 2 Corinthians 5: 17-18:
Community Attachment - Exploration
We are called to do life in community, loving one another. Community living also fosters growth. Community starts at Goshen, and extends into neighboring surroundings, doing good for others, through community work, involvement, and volunteering. GRM hopes to equip our residents for asuccessful reintegration to the community, in a healthy, functional way, and with a new purpose in life: to follow and live like Christ, to glorify God. Community attachment will be a guided, and assisted process, when possible.
Worship- Relationship with Him- Exploration
Worship is an essential part of our ministry. Our purpose is to worship in every activity around the farm, through prayer, devotionals, quiet time, word, and church. GRM has devotional, prayer throughout the day, and attends church weekly. Residents are encouraged to play our instruments on the farm.
Learning happens throughout our lives. It is our hope that our residents at Goshen will also develop new skills. Skills helps us fulfill our personal call in life, according to our identity in Jesus Christ. These skills will range from: life skills, coping skills, employability skills, and farm/agricultural skills, to Christ-centered life skills.
Goshen Renewal Ministries (GRM) is a process of hope, healing, renewal and transformation. GRM offers a ministry of reconciliation. GRM seeks for an opportunity to help broken men who suffer from spiritual, psychological, and/or emotional pain, to draw near to Jesus Christ, in order that they experience His love, discover their identity and fulfill their destiny. Goshen, as mentioned in our "Our Name" section, means “drawing near,” as explained in the Bible in various verses like Genesis 45:10, Ephesians 2:13, Hebrews 10:22, and James 4:8. The driving call to reconcile people to God, their families, and others is the reason for our motto:
